The PTO organizes many different and fun events throughout the year to not only help raise money for the school, but provide a fun experience for the families of Copper Creek. Tears and Cheers – Jackie McGuire and Patty Wilderson
Join new and old parents after the bell rings on the first day of school. Whether you’re cheering or tearing at dropping your kid(s) off for the new school year, take a few minutes to enjoy a cup of coffee, a donut or two, and some fruit, while you meet other parents, sign up for volunteer opportunities, and find out what Copper Creek is really about.
Hawk Walk – Kim Evans
This great event promotes fitness as a fun activity and shows off our awesome school spirit. At the start of the school year, students walk a pre-set course on the school field, and family and friends can give a donation to support their student. This is our MAIN fundraiser of the year, and ALL profits go directly to help the school.
Movie Nights – Jackie McGuire and Patty Wilderson
Twice a year we enjoy a movie in the courtyard. In the fall, visit with old classmates and new friends as we kick the school year off. Bring a blanket and some chairs and enjoy an outdoor movie and help raise money for Copper Creek by buying Pizza and Popcorn to munch on while you enjoy a night out. In the spring, this doubles as our yearbook release party. Get one last school event in with your friends before you head off for the summer. Sign yearbooks, enjoy the late sunset as you eat pizza and popcorn, and then settle in to watch a fun all ages movie.
Restaurant Nights – Patty Wilderson
Once a month, an Oro Valley restaurant partners with Copper Creek to raise money for the school. For a certain time frame on the given day, families can dine-in or take-out, and the restaurant will give a percentage of those sales back to the PTO. It’s a fun night to see friends out at dinner and a GREAT excuse not to cook!
This is a huge fall event of Halloween themed fun, inflatables, game booths, haunted house, a picture spot, costume contest, cake walk and including food and treats for sale.
Auction – Jackie McGuire
The auction is our second main fundraiser. It is a fun, off campus, adults only, dinner and auction. There are many items, local deals, and classroom projects to bid on. We are always looking for volunteers.
Book Fair – Valerie Crawford
A buy one, get one book fair is scheduled for Spring. A week long event by Scholastic Books, this even encourages reading with a great selection of books for sale. Classes are able to browse and shop during a pre-set time at school or they can visit before or after school with their friends and family. There is also a one night read-aloud event for families to visit the book fair, while the kids are entertained by our beloved teachers reading their favorite stories. Volunteers are needed to set up and man registers during the event.
Students and their families can dance the night away at our very popular evening dance. Great music, refreshments, and a photo booth are just a few of the reasons to put your dancing shoes on. Volunteers are needed to decorate, sell food, and help monitor the event.
